Restless Dreams is a series about transformation, shaped both by its relation to my personal experience with change and by the difficult process used to create each piece. Both prints are pulled from wooden boards with the designs carved directly into their surfaces. This is a lengthy process done with small but precise tools to allow for small details. While the entire process takes several dozen hours of maddening and sometimes painful work, the results are amazingly rewarding and provide time for me to reflect on my work and my future. 

The symbolism in the pieces is intentionally horrific and visceral, with monsters drawn from my personal nightmares. Change is something that many fear, as moving forward sometimes means leaving something behind. The skeletal centipedes represent stagnation and change. It sinks its teeth into the figure and prevents them from leaving or moving forward for fear of change. However, in the second piece, they become a tool wielded by the figure, now transformed into something beyond what they once were as they allow change to take hold.
